When I lived in that London back in early 90s and worked as a regular volunteer/helper with greenpeace I once went to the home of one of the senior policy-makers/campaign directors. She had the biggest pile of bottles in her back garden I'd ever seen outside of a bottle recycling plant. Like yards wide and several feet deep... a drift of bottles.
She said it was several years worth and that as the problem got bigger she felt less able to deal with it...... same as much of life's problems.. RA
